How does the uSmile® Direct to Consumer Discount (D2CD) program work?
NO intermediaries.
Normally, hotels give a discount to tour-operators, travel agencies and booking websites. That discount is their income. uSmile® also receives a discount from hotels, and that discount is 20%. uSmile®, however, does not get its income from this discount, as do other intermediaries, but uSmile® transfers that discount directly to the traveler - all 20%.
Where is the uSmile® interest?
In selling the discounts, which we receive from the hotels. We want you to enjoy traveling with us, so with each discount ticket you buy, we give you for FREE: 1. One more discount ticket for one additional stay (this offer is valid until September 2009)
2. An exclusively designed Catalogue of participating hotels (All participating hotels were chosen with the criteria of exclusivity and quality, and every two years we reevaluate them based on your feedback)
How can you save £380 participating in the uSmile® D2CD program?
Our Discount Ticket costs £20,46, delivery included, and gives you a 20% discount on your total accommodation bill. If you stay in a hotel for 10 nights and the total bill is £1000, you will receive £200 discount, saving £180 for one stay.
If you travel alone and visit Catalonia a second time, or if you travel with your family and you need a second room, you can use the second free ticket and save a further £200, based, again, on a 10-night stay scenario. £180 + £200 = £380
How does uSmile® deliver the discount?
Sometimes it is difficult to plan Summer holidays in advance. To provide you with the fastest delivery, we ship all purchases daily and deliver them within 3 days for Europe and 5 days for the USA and Canada.
What happens if you cancel your visit?
You can use the discounts during 2009 and 2010 in all uSmile® hotels at any time. If after receiving uSmile® discount ticket, you change your mind - no matter what the reason - we will refund you 100% + the cost of return shipping.
Only one person in 193 has a chance
In the uSmile® Direct to Consumer Discount (D2CD) program there are 50 participating hotels with a total of 4156 rooms.There are only six months left till the end of 2009, or 18 occupancy cycles. Multiplying 4156 by 18 we have a total room capacity of 74808.
From July to December 2009, 19.500.000 visitors are expected in Catalonia according to the Institute of Touristic Studies, Spain. 80% of these tourists stay in hotels. Taking into account that in 2009, the government expects a 6% drop in visitors due to the recession this would mean that a total of 14.453.000 visitors will stay in Catalonian hotels during the second half of the year.
If we now divide 14.453.000 by 74808, we get 193!
This is why only one person in 193 has a chance to participate in the uSmile® discount program during second half of 2009.
